Overview

Jill and Susan were selected to create a series of interpretive features for two new parks in Saskatoon that commemorating a historical remnant of the original wagon cart trail which brought settlers from Moose Jaw to Saskatoon in the late 1800s. The series of interpretive features they created are composed of inter-related sculptural forms and integrated text elements that bring aspects of storytelling to a direct experience and engagement for viewers with the landscape. Each work speaks to a single moment within a journey, yet as a whole, the works speak to the connection between nature and culture, experience and memory as well as reflecting on themes of network, connection and communication resonant with the people and industry of Saskatoon today.
